About Us

Neptune Submarine Networks provides independent open-access network connectivity solutions for subsea networks globally. As an independent and impartial partner, we have strong capital and vast market expertise, enabling us to give our customers a wide variety of versatile solutions.

Neptune Submarine Networks is envisaged as a high capacity Fiber Optic Cable between the 2 financial centres of Mumbai and Singapore with a branch landing in the South India port city of Kochi. This project would cater to the exponential growth in demand for bandwidth in the Indian market and the Kochi landing will provide diversity and enhance reliability for customers. This cable will be part of the core backbone required to service this exponential growth.

The Neptune Submarine Networks will be built as a minimum 8 Fiber Pair (FP) system between India and Singapore, with the option to introduce branches and / or additional FPs, based on specific customer requests. Each FP will be designed with a minimum design capacity of 15 Tbps and would be engineered and structured to give their users maximum flexibility and favourable economics with respect to interconnections, upgrades and technology choices.

Why Consider NEPTUNE Submarine

Neptune Submarine Networks will be an open access system (India & Singapore) with carrier neutral landing in India (Mumbai & Kochi) and also in Singapore. There shall be no stranded capacity or unusable capacity.

Open access in India - open access to the Indian wholesale market

At the heart of the Neptune Submarine Cable is the open access arrangement in India. Historically, the Indian market has been inaccessible even to those who have invested in submarine cables that touch India due to high interconnect cost levied by incumbent operators on every unit of capacity that terminates in their Cable Landing Stations.

The problem is addressed as:

The landing in India is with a neutral carrier with no interest in selling their backhaul to others.

Low risk, Favorable economics

Neptune Submarine Cable will be fully funded by promoters, omitting any project risk associated with permitting, regulations, contracting and cash flows.

The economics for user of the system, would be far more favorable than other traditional approaches and will be driven by the following considerations:

Singapore POP

Neptune Submarine Cables envisages to land the cable directly in the PoP in Singapore, This also result in lower upgrade costs as no seperate cost to upgrade the terrestrial segment separately. This arrangement yields substantial savings and provide operational flexibility and lower O&M costs.

Diversity

Neptune Submarine Cable will be engineered to provide high reliability i.e. the safest marine route that is diverse from other existing cables. It would also provide diversity of landing points, proximity to the IT hub in Kochi, terrestrial access to Bengaluru & Chennai and diversity from the concentration of cables in Mumbai.

Easy Payment

Neptune Submarine Cable offers Outright Purchase (Cap-Ex) & Lease Options to its customers.

One of the most innovative aspects of the Neptune Submarine Cable is the offer to lease dark fibre to our customers rather than a big upfront sales price that de-risks the capital expenditure and encourages them to make lease payments at the same time while being able to access and sell capacity to receive returns. Neptune management would be pleased to explore this choice with interested customers.
